The idea for Lovelady Brewing Company started many years ago in the backyard of the Lovelady house where twins Richard and Robert starting brewing beer at the tender age of 17. Their friends immediately dubbed it “Dick and Bob’s Brew” and a dream was born. Flash forward many years later, the twins were joined by older brothers Jerry and Jeffrey, as well as a life-long friend and beer collaborator, Mike Brook to form a new company dedicated to brewing the freshest, tastiest and original beers in an area that could give back to the local community. We chose to build our brewery in downtown Henderson, NV because of several factors:
1. The Lovelady Family has strong roots in the Henderson community dating back to the early 1950’s where the brothers Grandmother taught at Basic High School and their Mother graduated from Basic as well. We have always been around and are eager to give back to the community that gave us our roots.
2. We wanted to help develop and uplift a community where we were located. Downtown Henderson has had its fair share of struggles over the years and LBC wanted to be a spark to further development in what is a very nice downtown area.
3. We wanted to open a brewery that could become a part of the community in which it was based. Developing a stylish building in downtown Henderson with easy access to the surrounding neighborhoods and involvement with local charities, sporting groups and local events seemed the way to do it.
To sum up: We’re a local, family based business. LBC hopes to spread the love (in the form of beer), a sense of community and a commitment to give back.
